Raymond Harold Durst (Harold Raymond Durst), 59, of Marshall, IL passed away unexpectedly at 1:45 PM in his home Monday March 5, 2012. He was born July 12, 1952, the son of Harold Melvin and Margaret Ballering Durst in Champaign/Urbana, IL. He married Theresa O'Rourke Martin on November 27, 1992. He worked for the railroad in his early years, and also Trailmobile in Charleston, IL. He was the owner of The Coroner Tavern in Marshall since 1996. He is survived by his wife, Theresa of Marshall, IL; two sisters, Nancy (Raymond) Urban of Danville, IL and Diana (David) Garner of Marshall, IL.; a brother, Eugene (Diana) Durst of Loma Linda, CA.; three step daughters, Alissa (Logan) Tipton, Camille (Travis) Rollins and Bettina Martin and his beloved grandkids DeeAnna, Ethan, Trevor, Bryn, Mia, Ahnna, Harrison, and Kellan as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and a host of many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and his stepfather, Albert Jamison. His greatest joy was being "Papa" to all kids, related or not. He was an avid enthusiast of the St. Louis Cardinals, the Chicago Bears, the Boston Celtics, and his Harley. He was a generous man, donating to many local teams and organizations. Services in honor of his life will be at 10:30 AM Central Time Saturday at the Pearce Funeral Home in Marshall, IL with Rev. David Deal officiating. Burial will follow in the Livingston Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 Friday and from 7:00 AM until service time Saturday at the Pearce Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the Illinois/Indiana Tornado Survivors or the charity of your choice.
