HL Hollingsworth, 96, of Marshall, IL passed away 11:17 AM Thursday, July 23, 2026 in Marshall Rehabilitation & Nursing in Marshall. He was born Feb. 17, 1930 in rural Edgar County, the son of Lloyd and Lucy North Hollingsworth. His wife, Olive Grindle Hollingsworth preceded him in death on January 16, 2010. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Barbara Poorman and Deeanna Masset; four sons, Ernie, Kenny, Dennis and Austin and several brothers and sisters.Surviving are a son, Herman Hollingsworth of Marshall and several grandchildren,great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.HL was retired from the Illinois Cereal Mills at Paris and farmed for many years. A man of a strong work ethic, he always kept busy as long as his health permitted. He served this nation in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. HL was a member of VFW Post #5975 of Marshall.
