Gene Wichman, Howard Eugene Wichman, 51, of Marshall, IL passed away 2:00 AM Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013 in Methodist Hospital at Indianapolis, IN where he had been admitted the previous day. At the time of his death he was awaiting surgery. He was born Sept., 4, 1961 at Terre Haute, IN, the son of Richard and Sharon Stout Wichman. He attended and graduated from Marshall High School and served in the US Navy after graduation from Marshall High School. His career was in the roofing business until his heart became dysfunctional for heavy work. He tried factory work, but due to his heart problems he was unable to continue. He was currently working at the Marshall Advocate which he loved and was so proud that he had found a job that his disability would allow him to do. Surviving is his daughter, Jacklyn Marie Wichman who was the love of his life; his parents, Sharon and Richard Wichman; sisters, Debra (Ray) Eggers of Marshall, IL, Melissa Burton of Terre Haute, IN and Ramona (Brian) Owens of Casey, IL; nieces and nephews, Melanie Stout, Nathaniel Dylan Goodman, Elizabeth Leann Burton, Cloe Lynette Daugherty and Jacob Levi Daugherty; a special great nephew Dakoda Ray, the son of Melanie and Dennis Stout; uncles, Ted Stout, Richard Stout and Terry (Cindy) Stout and many other relatives and friends who all loved him and will miss him dearly. Services in honor of his life will be 10:00 AM Saturday at Pearce Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Cooper officiating. Burial will be in the Livingston Cemetery with military graveside rites by VFW Post #5975 and Clark Co. Post #90 of the American Legion. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
