James L. Staley, 75, of Marshall, IL passed way Thursday, Nov. 2, 2023 in Community East Hospital at Indianapolis, IN. He was born June 3, 1948 at Decatur, IL, the son of Bruce and Doris (Vanarsdalen) Staley who preceded him in death. On Sept. 4, 1971, he married Marcia Livvix in Annapolis, IL. Surviving are his wife; a son, Matt (Liz Murphy) Staley of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren, Brennan Murphy of Indianapolis, In, Grayson Johnson of Marshall, IL and Kali (Klaryssa Wolfe) Ritchie of Bloomington, IN and his siblings, John (Karen) Staley of West Union, IL, Don (Norie) Staley of Annapolis, IL, Dave (Becky) Staley of Martinsville, IL and Steve (Vicki) Staley of Annapolis, IL. He was a collector of Allis-Chalmers tractors and was a member of the AC Tractor Club at Watson, IL. He was a member of the South Central Antique Truck Club of America, the Model A Club and was the owner of seven antique vehicles. In addition to being retired from the Union Carpenters after 35 years of service, he had been a machinist, blacksmith and had built a sawmill. He served this nation in the U.S. Navy. Private graveside services will be at the Olive Branch Cemetery with Pastor Brett Parks officiating.
