Janet Lee Ramey, was a caring and devoted wife, mother, nana, sister, aunt and friend. She left this world peacefully on November 7th, 2022 after a courageous battle against cancer. Janet was the daughter of Donald W. Miller Sr. and Doyne E. Miller, born on August 28th, 1956. She graduated from Marshall High School in 1974 where she met her soulmate, Richard A. Ramey. Janet and Richard were married on June 29th, 1974. The Lord blessed them with two sons, Adam and Ryan. Janet worked at Terre Haute Regional Hospital for 30 years. When she wasn’t working, she was busy volunteering for a variety of worthy causes including; The Awanas program, Crisis Pregnancy Center, and in the Healing Room ministry at New Rivers Church. You could also find Janet on the sidelines of many sporting events cheering on her grandchildren who were the light of her life. Janet was also an avid walker. Her and her best friend Johanna would brave the elements to get in their daily walks. She was always quick to show her love and support to her family and friends by sending cards, creating scrapbook pages, making meals and sweet treats, giving gifts, and most importantly, she prayed for all of them. Interceding in prayer for her loved ones was one of Janet’s greatest gifts. Her love for the Lord was expressed in all she did for others. Janet’s battle with cancer the past 10 years had led her to the Cancer Treatment Center in Ohio where she donated blood for research to help find a cure for Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL). Her journey not just with cancer, but also with other trials, led her to sharing her personal testimony to several churches in recent years. In her testimony she gives thanks to God for always being continuously with her. Janet’s life verse is Isaiah 40:31 “but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” Janet was reunited with her father Donald W. Miller Sr., brother Don W. Miller Jr., and her beloved son Adam Ramey who all preceded her in death. The loved ones that will greatly miss her until they meet again in addition to her husband include; mother Doyne E. Miller of Marshall; son and daughter-n-law Ryan and Sherri Ramey of Marshall; grandchildren: TaShara McGee, TyLea McGee, Rylan Ramey, and Reed Ramey; her brothers and sister-in-law, Andy and Dee Miller, and Scott and Carrie Miller of Marshall; nephews: Derrek (Alli) Miller, Carter Miller, Andrew Miller, and Aaron Miller; nieces: Amy (Barry) Miller and Ali Conine; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and dear friends. The funeral service will be located at Pearce Funeral Home on Thursday, November 10th, 2022 with visitation from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm, and funeral services at 2:00 pm (Central Time).
