Jerry Lee Nave, 82, of Marshall, IL, died on May 27, 2023, at the Gibson Family Hospice Center in Terre Haute, IN. He was born on February 19, 1941, in Orange Township, Clark County, IL, the son of Benjamin Nave and Sylvia (Swope) Nave, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his in-laws, William "Bill" and Mary Kile; brother, Myron L. Nave; sister-in-law, Ann Nave; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tom and Linda Kuykendall. He married Judith "Judie" Ann Kile on December 8,1963 and she survives. He is also survived by his children, Lee Ann (Nave) & V.J. Reinert of Springfield, IL, Kile Lee Nave & Matt Clynne of Homestead, FL and Elise Ann (Nave) & Bruce Maxwell of Sidney, IL; grandchildren, Drew (Emily) Fendrich, Jordan Nave, Joe Reinert, Benjamin Reinert, Ellen Reinert and Jacob Maxwell; a great-grandchild, Gus Fendrich; brother, Larry Nave; sister, Sandra (Robert) Glenn; sister-in-law, Rusty Nave; sister-in-law, LuEllen (Charley) Rose; brother-in-law, Brent (Glenda) Kile. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews and his loving dog, Teddy Bear Nave. Jerry was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved attending events of his children and grandchildren. He had an excavation business and thoroughly enjoyed working. Many times, Judie and their children helped him as needed. He, Judie and Brent worked together in developing the Oak Brook Subdivision. His wood-working talent was evident in the beautiful furniture he created. He enjoyed doing the many renovation projects of his home and also was able to help each of his children with their home projects. He was a faithful member of the Marshall Baptist Church where he previously had served as a deacon, trustee and at the outreach Sunday School at Burnsides Nursing Home. He was a graduate of Hutsonville High School, a member of Operating Engineers Local #841, had served with the Marshall Fire & Rescue Departments for many years. Jerry truly loved helping others as was shown by his life. Services in honor of his life will be 10:00 AM Friday, June 2nd at Pearce Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Marshall Cemetery.
