John Allen Kemper Jr., 46, of Marshall, IL passed away Sunday evening from the results of an accidental drowning in the Wabash River in rural in Vigo Co., IN. He was a millwright for Local #1076 and was currently working for Freitag Weinhardt at AET at Terre Haute, IN. He was born Jan. 26, 1966 at Mattoon, IL, the son of John A. Kemper Sr. and Barbara Payne Kemper. Surviving are his two sons, John A. Kemper III of Galesburg, IL and Caleb M. Kemper of Marshall, IL; his parents of Marshall; his sister, Katrina (Brad) Conine of Marshall, IL; a grandmother, Norma Fern Kemper of Marshall, IL; a niece, Rebecca (Brad) Elliott; two nephews, Travis Conine and Cody Conine; great niece, Sophia and three great nephews, Tyler, Braden and Gavan. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dumas and Tressie Payne and Carl "Todd" Kemper He loved fishing, boating, hunting and riding his Harley. He was a graduate of Marshall High School and attended Lincoln Trail College. He served this nation in the US Navy from 1984 to 1988. Services in honor of his life will be 7:00 PM Wednesday at Pearce Funeral Home, 314 S. 6th St., Marshall, IL. Cremation will follow services.
