John W. Mullins, 63, of Marshall, IL passed away 11:40 AM Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016 in the Cobblestone Crossing Health Campus at Terre Haute. John was retired from the CSX Railroad after 37 years of service and he was a long time member of the Union and had also owned and operated Johnny’s Dirt Work. He was born Dec. 25, 1952 in Dayton, OH, the son of Bruce Mullins and Joyce McGee Mullins.
Surviving are his wife, Pam Hoopingarner Mullins; his dog Jake who was a best buddy; a son, Jordan Carter; a grandson, Jaiden Carter; his mother of Portage, IN; a grandfather, Wilson Hall of Richmond, IN; brothers, Danny (Michele) Mullins of Brooksville, FL and Ronald Mullins of Florida; sisters, Lisa (Dean “Dino”) Ellerman of Hobart, IN, Kathy (Terry) Mitchell and Robin Jacobs both of Valparaiso, IN and many other relatives and friends. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond and a grandmother, Dorothy Hall.
He loved to go boating, camping and traveling, garage parties and having a beer and a little wine. Being with others and having a great time was a highlight to him and those friendships meant so very much to him and all of those around him. Services in honor of his life will be 10:30 AM Thursday at Pearce Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Duke officiating. Burial will be in the Auburn Cemetery, rural Marshall. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Wednesday and prior services Thursday at the funeral home. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Clark Co. animal Shelter.
