He was a graduate of Marshall High School in 1956 and served in the Army from 1957 - 1959. Lloyd had a strong work ethic and developed his entrepreneurial spirit early in Jr. High School. He saw opportunity in many different areas. Some successful... some not so much. Choosing to walk thru life together each day with his wife Donna as a business partner, they started Claypool Frame and Body Shop in 1962 with brother Dennis. Expanding to a 24 hr. wrecker service, Economy tractors and custom bulldozing. His brother Donald joined the business for 4 yrs as they expanded into farming 1000 acres and a hog operation. For 15 years, starting in 1986, he planted over 50,000 trees...one at a time, with a spade.
During that busy time they also poured themselves into their newly started Amway business inspiring others. Lloyd & Donna expanded across the U.S and found joy in helping others achieve goals, develop leadership skills, plus adding income for their families. They helped to open international business in Taiwan, Greece, and Mexico....developing lifetime friendships.
He was elected for a 3 year term to the National Amway Distributor Board in Michigan. He also was elected as an alternate delegate for Ronald Reagan to the Republican National Convention in Detroit, Mi. in 1980.
