Maria Stephanie Macke, 33, of Marshall, IL passed away Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014 at her home.

She was born March 6, 1981 at Terre Haute, IN. the daughter of Dr. Steven and Beth Richards Macke.

Surviving are her parents of Marshall; a sister, Megan (Pete) Pistorius of Blue Mound, IL; a brother, Chris (Melissa) Macke of Marshall, IL; five nieces, Emma Pistorius, Isabel Pistorius, Olivia Pistorius, Zaylee Macke and Sydney Macke; a nephew, William Pistorius; a grandmother, Florence Richards of Effingham, IL; uncles and aunts, Julie Richards Krietemeier, Mark (Debbie) Richards, John (Perrie) Richards, Joe (Betty) Macke, Ken (Eleanor) Macke, John (Patty) Macke, Sue (Lloyd) Shaw, Dave Macke and Alice (Joe) Schroeder; several cousins and many friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Ray Richards; paternal grandparents, Arnold and Mary Macke and an uncle, Al Krietemeier.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Marshall and was a 1999 graduate of Marshall High School. She had received a certificate as a dental assistant and had attended cosmetology school. She was formerly employed at the Marshall IGA and the Burnsides Community Care Center in the activity department. Maria enjoyed her dogs, watching movies and spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephew. She had a talent for makeup and truly enjoyed helping others look and feel beautiful. Maria would always greet other with a smile and enjoyed her many friendships.

Services in honor of her life will be 2:00 PM Saturday at the First United Methodist Church, 702 Plum St., Marshall, IL with Rev. Richard Lewis officiating. Burial will be in the Marshall Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Friday at the church. Casket Bearers will be Andrew Ferris, Quinton Smith, Jerry Woodfall, Austin Kendall, Larry Yargus and Ed Pearce. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to Summer Lunch Inc. or to the First United Methodist Church.
