Marion L. Tharp, 86, of Marshall, IL passed away 6:20 PM Monday, Feb. 1, 2016 in Casey Health Care Center at Casey, IL.

He was born Dec. 10, 1929 in Vigo Co., IN, the son of James Tharp and Ethel M. Taggert Tharp. He married Stella A. Clouse on Jan. 8, 1949 and she preceded him in death on Aug. 26, 2001. Surviving are a son; Harold (Donna) Tharp of Clinton, IN; two daughters, Margaret (Gerald) Monk of Marshall, IL and Sandra (Jerry) Bays of Terre Haute, IN; 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were 12 brothers and sisters.

He served this nation in the US Navy from 1947 to 1949.

Services in honor of his life will be 10:00 AM Sat. at Pearce Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Duke officiating. Burial will be in the Marshall Cemetery with military graveside rites.
