Maureen “Moe” Sullivan Mora, 64, of Marshall, IL passed away August 23, 2021 at her home. She was born Dec. 7, 1956 at Evergreen Park, IL, and was raised in Calumet City, IL. She was the daughter of Rita (Zandstra) Sullivan of Largo, FL and John L. Sullivan who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was her sister Mary D Sullivan, Borther Thomas Sullivan and the love of her life Howard "Marty" Darnell. She is survived by her loving daughter Jennifer (Brian) Grcich of Cedar Lake, IN; Her siblings, Kethleen (Patrick) McPolin of Orland Park, IL; Patricia ( Bob) Mitchell of Hammond, IN;Jeannie (Michael) Ciesynski of Seattle, Wa.; Michael (Debbie) Sullivan of Whiting, IN.; John (Lisa) Sullivan of Largo, FL; Tim Sullivan of Valparaiso, IN.; and grandchildren Hailey Grcich and Hunter Grcich. SHe is also survived by the special people in her life that Moe considered family; Norma Darnell of Marshall, IL; Steven Darnell of Marshall, IL; David Darnell of Hammond, IN; Dale (Judy) Sutton of Marshall, IL; and Ava Darnell, Bowie Darnell, Jasper Darnell, Richard Eaton, and Savannah Eaton. Maureen attended St. Victor's Catholic School in Calumet City, IL and Thornwood High School in South Holland, IL. She had many friends both in person and on Social media. She was fiercely loyal to her friends and family, and always had a king word for everyone. She never hung up a phone call with her family without telling them how much she loved them. Mow devoted the last 12 years of her life v=caring for others at the Villas of Holly Brook and then when Marty took ill, she lovingly cared for him until his death in April 2021. Maureen was a parishioner at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marshall. Moe loved to vacation near a beach or swimming pool, especially in sunny Florida. She could lay by the pool reading her book, chatting with friends, and catching rays for hours" Maureen will be cremated and buried alongside her Marty. A celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM September 8th at Our Lady of Knock in Calumet City, IL with Visititation from 10:00 AM until Service time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. A charity that was near and dear to Maureen's heart.
