Mildred E. Bandilla, 81, of Marshall, IL passed away 9:44 PM Sunday, Nov. 28, 2021 in Union Hospital at Terre Haute, IN. She enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps on Oct. 25, 1958 at Indianapolis, IN and served this nation until Aug. 1, 1991 in New Orleans, LA. She retired as a Master Sergeant having served in the USMC 4th MAW, N.O. Following her retirement she was employed by the Clark Co. Park District. Mildred was born Oct. 18, 1940 at Timothy, TN, the daughter of Chester and Clara Perry Chilton. Surviving are two children, Matthew W. Bandilla and Tracy Bandilla-Krebs; two grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Eva Jane Chilton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Nellie Buescher and a brother, George Chilton. She was a 1958 graduate of Marshall High School and attended Northeastern University. A visitation will be held 12:00 to 1:00 PM Saturday at Pearce Funeral Home with a graveside service 1:15 PM at the Clarksville Cemetery, rural Marshall, IL. In honor of her service to this nation, military graveside rites will be accorded by Clark Co. Post #90 of the American Legion and VFW Post #5975.
