Myrtle D. “Deanie” Medsker, 96, of Marshall, IL passed away peacefully at 10:50 PM Sunday, July 28, 2024 with her loving family at her side. She was born June 26, 1928 near West Union, IL, the daughter of Roy Wells Sr. and Effie Holwick Wells. On Feb. 20, 1950 she married William D. “Bill” Medsker and he preceded her in death on Jan. 10, 1983. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Kenneth Wells, Ross Wells, LeRoy Wells, Cleo Lindley, Imogene Jackson, Gen Stepp and Eleanor Craig. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Gary) Peak of Marshall; a grandson, Shannon (Lauren) Peak of Marshall; grandchildren, Katie (Justin) Baker of Marshall and Julie (Kyle) Geibieg of Port Orange, FL; five great grandchildren, Mya, Marley, Aspen, Ryder and Landon as well as several nieces and nephews. “Deanie” was an active member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses of Paris, IL. She enjoyed interior decorating, loved working in her yard and tending to her flowers so much that you could often find her tending to that of her neighbors and family as well. She will most be remembered for the kindness and warmth she shared with those in her life and her desire to try and care for everyone. The family will receive friends after 1:00 PM Saturday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 705 Clinton RD, Paris, IL with a memorial service at 2:00 PM. Graveside services will follow the memorial service at 3:45 PM at the Harrison Cemetery, rural West Union, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to The Kingdome Hall Of Jehovah’s Witnesses or to the Harrison Cemetery Association.
