Naomia Fay Simpson, 90, of Marshall, IL passed away Thursday, May 21, 2020 in Marshall Rehabilitation and Nursing at Marshall. Fay was born Feb. 21, 1930 in rural Clark Co., IL, the daughter of Elmer E. and Bonnie Carpenter Arbuckle. In Oct. of 1946 she married Charles Eugene Simpson and he preceded her in death on June 22, 1989. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Richard Curran; two brothers, Warren and Glenn Arbuckle and two sisters, Fern Bowen and Frances Arbuckle. Surviving are her children, Anna Marie (Bob) Kintz of North Carolina, Charles Kenneth (Marion) Simpson of Paris, IL, Doris Curran of Marshall, IL, Randy (Leah) Simpson of Florida, Glen (Sandy) Simpson of Tuscola, IL, Norma (Bret)Meadows of Mattoon, IL, John (Charlotte) Simpson of Massachusetts, Bonnie Swick of Matton, IL and Sharon (Jeff) Mosteller of Marshall, IL; seventeen grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was a faithful and loyal member of the Marshall Baptist Church where she helped with Bible School and many church activities, especially those activities involving youth. She was very well known for her ability in cookie making and she had also volunteered many hours at the Burnsides Nursing Home. She played an important role in the lives of others by giving so very much of herself to others. Private services in honor of her life will be held at Pearce Funeral Home with Bro. Gene Ellis officiating. Burial will be in the Marshall Cemetery. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Baptist Children’s Home.
