Norma J. Gard, 84, of Martinsville, IL passed away 1:50 AM Tuesday, April 3, 2018 in Heartland Nursing Center at Casey with family by her side. Norma was born Feb. 3, 1934 in rural Edgar County, IL, the daughter of Marion and Mary Pauline Gill Tucker. She married Gayle Gard on May 16, 1953 at Marshall, IL. Norma is survived by her husband; a daughter, Deb (Norm) Tracy of Greenup, IL; a son, Bob (Lisa) Gard of Marshall, IL; grandchildren, Nicole (Tom) Beals of Charleston, IL, KaLeigh (Greg) Taylor of Charleston, IL, Josh (Amy) Gard of Marshall, IL, Luke Gard and Kellie Lecher of Tuscola, IL and Levi (Ashley) Gard of Marshall, IL; great grandchildren, Logan Beals, Avery Beals, Ella Taylor, Brady Taylor, Emma Gard, Alli Gard, Avery Gard, Jayse Gard and Koy Gard; brothers, Albert Tucker, Jim Tucker and David Tucker all of Marshall, IL and Dale Tucker of Greenup, IL and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jane Smith. She was a member of the Martinsville Christian Church and was a graduate of Marshall High School. She had the gift of hospitality, especially her holiday dinners where all were welcomed to join her and her family for a time of fellowship and fun. She took great pride in providing to others and not expecting anything in return. She was the Number One Fan at all her grandkids sporting and school events. She will always be remembered for being able to wear the school colors of many schools. She and her husband traveled many miles together when he was performing with country musical groups and square dances. She was always ready to go and always had a good time. Services in honor of her life will be 2:00 PM Sunday at Pearce Funeral Home with Pastor Billie Ray Ulrey officiating. Burial will be in the Livingston Cemetery.
