Norma J. Macke, 86, of Marshall, IL passed away 11:30 AM Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017 in the Burnsides Community Health Center at Marshall. She was retired after many years of service from the Clark County Extension Service. Norma was born Nov. 6, 1931 at Terre Haute, IN, the daughter of John and Ruth Wesnitzer Beltz. She married Leon Macke on May 29, 1971. Surviving are he husband, Leon; a daughter, Connie (Mike) Pruiett of Marshall, IL; grandchildren, Madalyn Kesler, Abraham Pruiett, Michael Pruiett III and Iris Pruiett; two sisters, Florence Beltz of Peoria, IL and Pat Bruner of Spring Valley, IL and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Ann Turner, Edna Fitzjarrald, Agnes Staub, Maxine Sweitzer, Clarene Whitaker. Betty Zimmerman Morrow and Pauline Beltz and two brothers, Joe Beltz and Robert Beltz. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Marshall and sang in the choir of the church for many years. Mass of the Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. Father Augustine Koomson as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Sunday at Pearce Funeral Home and also one hour prior services at the church on Monday. A liturgical wake service will be conducted 4:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
