Ola Eldean (Collier) Garwood, 97, of Marshall, IL went to be with her Lord and beloved husband, Alfred Leon Garwood , at 6:30 AM Saturday, August 4, 2012 at her home. She was born at Snyder, IL on July 14, 1915, the daughter of Commodore and Lydia Hutchinson Collier. She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Alfred Leon Garwood who preceded her in death on September 4, 2007. She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Clarence, Fenton, Olin, Milo and Bert Collier; two sisters, Alice Collier and Mildred Hornbrook; a grandson, Rodney Leon Garwood and granddaughter, Leah Jean Heisserer. She is survived by her children, Alice Jean (Harold) Combs of Albuquerque, NM, Arnold Leon Garwood of Marshall, IL, Leah Ruth (Ronald) Fouts of Terre Haute IN and Carole Sue (Victor) Heisserer of Benton, MO: two grandchildren Jodi Eileen (Joseph) Garcia of Albuquerque, NM and Dena Rae (Benoit) Angevin of Warsaw, Poland; great grandchildren, Eric and Jessica Wilcoxin of Albuquerque, NM, Richard Leon Garwood and Rachel Sue Garwood Lange of Sacramento, CA, Jo Ann Garcia and Andrew Garcia and great great grandchildren, Ava and Caitlyn Garwood, Tanis and Linda Sue Lange and Mathilde and Elisa Angevin. In her younger years Ola Eldean enjoyed baking pies for family and friends, raising canaries and providing friends and loved ones roses from her garden. For many years she and her husband were members of the Church of the Nazarene of Marshall, IL. Services in honor of her life will be 10:00 AM Tuesday at Pearce Funeral Home with Rev. Penny Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Marshall Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
