Patricia Lashbrook Williams, 84 of Martinsville, IL passed away 3:47 AM Friday in Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Care Center at Mattoon, IL.
She was born Sept. 14, 1931 in Coles County, IL, the daughter of Russell Otis and Alma Dew Lashbrook. She married Lloyd Leon Williams Jan. 20, 1951 at Mt. Carmel, IL and he preceded her in death on May 19, 2007. Surviving are two sons, David (Jane) Williams and Terry (Lisa) Williams both of Martinsville, IL; six grandchildren, Eliza (Steve) Smith of Westfield, IL, Jennifer (Jason) Ogle of Martinsville, IL, Jeremy (Abby) Williams of Martinsville, IL, Ashley Williams of Marshall, IL, Cortney (Blain) Fraker of Marshall, IL and Megan Williams of Martinsville, IL six great grandchildren, Dalanee Smith, Brody Smith and Grady Smith of Westfield, IL, Hudson Williams of Martinsville, IL, Bailey Ogle of Martinsville, IL and Jase Fraker of Marshall, IL; a sister-in-law, Mildred Williams Medsker; a brother-in-law, Hobart Glosser and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, James and his wife (Jane) Lashbrook, Robert and his wife Dorothy Lashbrook and Daniel Lashbrook; three sisters, Grace Lashbrook, Beverly Hayhurst and Alice Glosser; brothers and sisters- in-laws Perry (Helen) Williams Jr., Woodford Williams and Dean and Martha Williams.
Patricia was a member of the Martinsville Bible Church and was a graduate of Marshall High School. As a child Pat's family lived in the Casey area, where her father worked for area farmers and then the family moved to the Spiketown area west of Marshall, where her father purchased a 600+ acre farm.
After high school, Pat met Leon and a few years later they were married and moved to the farm north of Martinsville where they worked together farming and raising their two sons, teaching them to carry on the family farming tradition. Both of their sons and their six grandchildren were all actively involved in the 4-H program, showing beef cattle and other projects. Pat taught all six grandchildren to sew and all the granchildren loved to go to Grandma's house to make cookies and noodles, work with the cattle and ride in the tractors and combine.
Services in honor of her life will be 10:00 AM Thursday at Pearce Funeral Home in Marshall with Pastors Billie Ray Ulrey and David Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Lincoln Cemetery which is located on the family farm. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Wednesday and prior services Thursday at the funeral home.
