Peggy J. Tingley, 77, of West Union, IL passed away 2:38 AM Saturday, April 28, 2012 in her residence with her family at her bedside following a lengthy illness. Peggy was a lifelong farmer and homemaker. She will be sorely missed by her family and all those who knew her. She was born May 3, 1934 in Melrose Twp., of Clark Co., IL, the daughter of Gus and Alma Scott Hammond. She married Fenton E. Tingley on July 9, 1951 and he preceded her in death on April 17, 2011. Together, Peggy and Fenton had five children, Pat (Henry) Boesiger of West Union, IL, Terri Poorman of Marshall, IL, Kent (Judy) Tingley of West Union, IL, Ed (Joey) Tingley of Marshall, IL and Rhonda (Atwood) Finkbiner of West Union, IL; 16 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded death by five sisters, two brothers and one grandson, Blakely Tingley. Her family would like to extend a special thank you to Tawnia Hemmen for all of her special care and support. Services in honor of her life will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at Pearce Funeral Home in Marshall with Rev. Chris Quick officiating. Burial will be in the Ohio Cemetery, rural West Union.
