Rhonda Jean Claypool, 66, of Marshall, IL, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024 in the Casey Health Care Center at Casey, IL. She formerly owned and operated a day care center in Marshall. She was born Aug. 9, 1957 at Terre Haute, IN, the daughter of Donald R. Claypool and Hylda J. McCleary Claypool. Surviving are a son, Robert Joseph Claypool of Chicago, IL; two brothers, Scott (Lisa Marie) Claypool and Jeff Claypool of Marshall; an uncle, Lloyd (Donna) Claypool of Marshall; several nieces, nephews and cousins and her life-long best friend, Patty Garner who walked the journey with her through alzheimer’s…even to the end when God called Rhonda home. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Lee Claypool and several aunts and uncles. She was a graduate of Marshall High School. Rhonda was gifted in caring for children. She ran a daycare that parents could rely on and children loved to go to. Rhonda loved music, she was the biggest cheerleader for those who were musician in her family, but she also had music on in her house frequently. She would listen to anything from Christian music to Donny and Marie. She loved and adored her son Robbie. In the winter she would make sure he was bundled up for his walk to school to the degree that he almost looked like the boy from the Christmas Story. She was constantly concerned for his wellbeing and was very proud of him. She loved to keep her mind busy. She could often be found curled up in her chair reading a good book or crocheting on the couch. She would often make scarves, blankets or hats for others. She loved Jesus and it showed in the way she cared for others. A memorial visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 PM Saturday , July 20th at Pearce Funeral Home with a Service of Remembrance at 2:00 PM.
