Richard C. Newlin, 89, of Marshall, IL passed away Monday, March 7, 2016 in the Burnsides Community Health Center at Marshall.

He was retired from the Velsicol Chemical Co. and also farming.

Dick was born June 20, 1926 at Casey, IL. He married Donna J. Grubb who preceded him in death on April 1, 2001 and was also preceded in death by his mother, Mary M. Miller Newlin and a son-in-law, Robert Joab.

Surviving are three daughters, Barbara (John) Sanders of Marshall, Mary Joab of Terre Haute, IN and Susan (John) Rhoads of Marshall; grandchildren, Tiffany Walters, Travis Rhoads, Eric Joab and Kimberly Joab and great grandchildren, Landon Walters, Drew Walters, Shawnee Joab, Hunter Joab and Caitlynn Rogers.

He was an active member of Marshall Lodge #133 AF & AM and the Scottish Rite Valley of Danville, IL.

Services in honor of his life will be 10:30 AM Thursday at Pearce Funeral Home with Pastor Billie Ray Ulrey officiating. Burial will be in the Marshall Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Wednesday and prior services Thursday at the funeral home with Masonic services at 7:00 pm Wednesday.
