Shanna L (Neidigh) Bahr, 82, of Marshall, IL, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026, at Robinson Rehabilitation and Nursing in Robinson, Illinois, with her loving husband at her side, following a long and courageous struggle with dementia. Shanna was born on July 6, 1943, in Robinson, Illinois, to Orval and Christine (Hurt) Neidigh, who both preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Dinah Corder. A 1961 graduate of Robinson High School, Shanna married the love of her life, Edward Bahr, on August 12, 1961, in Robinson, Illinois. As a devoted Navy wife, she faithfully traveled wherever Ed was stationed, and later wherever his work as an electrician took them, including San Diego, CA; Aurora, IL; and Cannelton, IN, before they settled in Marshall to make their permanent home. Their marriage of more than six decades was a beautiful testament to enduring love and commitment. Shanna was a devoted homemaker and a talented seamstress whose hands were rarely still. She lovingly created and mended for those she cared about and found joy in crocheting pieces that will now be treasured keepsakes. Over the years, she also served as a babysitter in her home, caring for several children who held a very special place in her heart. She enjoyed quiet time at home working crossword puzzles and assembling jigsaw puzzles. An avid reader of mystery novels, she delighted in solving the puzzle before the final page. She also had a deep love for baseball and was a loyal fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, faithfully cheering them on each season. One of her happiest days was attending Opening Day at Busch Stadium with her daughter and seeing the Cydesdales in person, a memory she cherished. Shanna was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Marshall. Above all, Shanna’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Edward Bahr of Marshall; her daughter Amanda Evola and husband Robert of Brighton, IL; her beloved granddaughter, Audrey, who was the absolute joy of her life; her brother, Scott Neidigh (Cheryl) of Sandwich, IL along with several nieces and nephews. Being Audrey’s Nana was her most cherished role. Despite the travel distance between them, she rarely missed a school Christmas pageant, band concert, or Awards Event. She made sure she was there to pick Audrey up from elementary school several times each month, trips that were always followed by a stop at Dairy Queen. She was happiest cheering Audrey on from the sidelines, proudly watching her play softball, volleyball, and soccer. Shanna will be remembered for her steadfast love, her compassion, and the quiet warmth she brought into the lives of those around her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, February 21st in the Hazel Dell South Cemetery at Hazel Dell, IL with Pastor Bill Duke officiating. Memorials in her honor may be made to the Marshall Public Library. Online condolences are being accepted at pearcefuneralservices.com.
