Steven Wayne Adams passed away at his home on November 30, 2023. He had just celebrated his 67th birthday. Steve is survived by his beloved daughter – Stevie Adams, mother – Madonna Adams, Brothers – Joel & Robins Adams, Jeff & Judy Cash, Danny & Lisa Adams, Randy & Ruth Adams and several nieces and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother – John Adams and father – Joseph Adams. Steve graduated from Marshall High School in 1975 where he was known by the nickname Adji. In his teenage years he built his prized possession: a 1968 candy apple red Camero. He was a local legend as he always drove the cruise route around town with his contagious grin as he would rev the motor and make the exhaust cackle. Steve was a dedicated hard worker and had multiple jobs at one time. He was a carpenter and construction worker and even built his own home. He worked as an attendant at local gas stations Grieve’s Sunoco and Jack’s Marathon for many years where he was known as the nice guy prankster. His full-time employment was as a lineman at GTE and then a cable tech when it switched to Verizon, where he retired. Steve would always help others in need and loved to spend time with his daughter and family and watch westerns on TV. Keep cruising in the hereafter, Adji, and know that your daughter, family, and friends love and miss you. The family invites you to a celebration of Steve’s life where we will share stories and memories as we gather on Saturday, December 16th at the Marshall Community Center (MCC) – 1402 Archer Avenue, Marshall, Illinois 62441. Services will be from 12 to 2 pm CST. In lieu of flowers please share your fond memories of Steve by sending letters, cards and photos for his daughter Stevie and family to treasure. You may email Stevie at steveelise@gmail.com or mail to Pearce Funeral Home, 314 S. 6th St., Marshall, Illinois 62441 and you can post digital messages under Steve’s obituary on the Pearce Funeral Home’s website.
