Vicki Lynn Remlinger, 77, of Marshall, IL, left her earthly home to be with Jesus at 9:23 PM Tuesday, September 5, 2023 surrounded by her children and husband. She was born on April 19, 1946, the daughter of James and Rosemary (Drummond) Pellum, both who preceded her in death. Vicki's first job was at the Dog N Suds as a carhop, where she met the love of her life, John Byron Remlinger. John and Vicki were married on July 24, 1965. Recently celebrating their 58th wedding anniversary, they were inseparable. The last year of her battle with cancer had been hard on her. She had a wonderful support system in her loving family and friends. Surviving are her husband, John; a daughter, Kim (Jim) Bender of West Union, IL and a son Brad (Carrie) Remlinger of Marshall, IL; four grandchildren, Dillon Bender of Marshall, IL, Parker (Brittany) Bender of West Union, IL, Zoe (Brandon) Burgett of Terre Haute, IN and Jace Remlinger of Marshall, IL; seven great grandchildren, Liam, Kennedy, Riley, Blair, Salix and Rayne Bender and Nahla Burgett. Also surviving are her six siblings, Leanna Morris, Kathi (Steve) Davis both of West Union, IL, Martin (Annamaria) Pellum of Edmond, OK, Marlene (Steve) Terrell of Paris, IL, Angela (Steve) Setzer of Marshall, IL and Rodney (Amanda) Pellum of Marshall, IL. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Luther Morris. Vicki was a lifelong and faithful member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church. She was an avid seamstress, loved quilting, crafts of all kinds, reading, flowers, cooking and enjoyed the family tradition of getting together with her siblings every Sunday. She loved her grandchildren dearly and watch her great grandchildren play put a big smile on her face. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Monday, Sept. 11th at the First Christian Church, 906 N. 6th St. in Marshall. Services in honor of her life will be 10:00 AM Tuesday at the church with burial following in the Marshall Cemetery. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution, it is requested they be made to the Emmanuel United Methodist Church or Marshall Public Library with envelopes available at the church.
