After retiring he worked for Wal Mart as a driver and received many service awards until he gave up trucking to fully retire except to drive more on his many, many adventure trips. Virgil was very talented and there was not a job he could not do nor a task he could not learn or perform. He was athletic and played sports into his 80’s. Virgil served in the Army. The following is written by his sister so others will know a little of Virgil and all who knew him would agree. Dear Brother, You slipped away before we were ready for you to. You were one of a kind and no one can ever fill your shoes. You lived life to the fullest every day. Your adventures took you on travels from the Gulf of Mexico to Alaska, from California to New York. And, oh my you going West each year was one of your happiest places and times. You will be missed by many, especially your Kidos, grandkids and great grandkids. My how much you loved them and bragged on them all. So, little brother, Ray will miss your trips (along with others who went on your adventures) and I’ll miss giving you a hard time! Love from Sis.
