William David “Bill” Sweitzer, 79, of Marshall, IL passed away at 4:53 AM Wednesday October 11, 2023 at Marshall Nursing and Rehab. He was born on March 24, 1944 in Marshall, IL to Everett and Dorothy (Arminston) Sweitzer. He was married to Sharon Wernz and later to Gail Ellis, both of whom preceded him in death in 2013. He worked for Quality Lime company directly after high school and then for Local #841 Operators Union as a heavy equipment operator for over 60 Years. He is survived by Three Daughters Tammy McCammon of West Union, IL; Valeris (Samuel “Barry”) Blankenbaker of Fieldon, IL; and Angie (Jim) Robinson of Teledo, IL; One son David (Kim) Sweitzer of Ogden, KS; Twelve Grandchildren and Fourteen Great Grandchildren, Two Brothers Dale (Sarah) Sweitzer of Maryville, IN; and Donnie (Lori) Sweitzer of Marshall, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Three Sisters and Two Brothers. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 Saturday October 14 at the Pearce Funeral Home in Marshall, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM Until Service time at the Funeral Home. With Burial following in the Zion Cemetery.
